What Is Biest?
Biest is a compounded bioidentical estrogen formulation that contains a combination of estradiol (E2) and estriol (E3). It has been prescribed as part of your bioidentical hormone replacement therapy to support estrogen balance and relieve symptoms associated with low or fluctuating estrogen levels.
How It Works:
Biest works by replenishing estrogen levels in the body and supporting estrogen receptor activity involved in temperature regulation, mood, skin integrity, bone health, and overall hormonal balance. The combination of estradiol and estriol is designed to provide symptom relief while supporting a balanced estrogen profile. Benefits develop with consistent use.
Expected Benefits:
Patients may experience reduction in hot flashes and night sweats, improved mood stability, improved vaginal and skin tissue health, enhanced overall sense of well-being, and support for bone and cardiovascular health. Benefits are cumulative and vary by individual.
When to Use:
Biest should be used exactly as prescribed by your medical provider. Timing and frequency are individualized based on laboratory findings, symptoms, treatment goals, and response to therapy.
Possible Side Effects:
Common side effects may include breast tenderness, bloating, fluid retention, headache, nausea, or mild weight fluctuations. Less common side effects may include mood changes, spotting or breakthrough bleeding, skin changes, or changes in libido. Side effects are often dose-dependent and may improve with adjustments.
Contact Your Provider If You Experience:
Persistent or worsening side effects, severe headaches, visual changes, chest pain, shortness of breath, leg swelling, unexplained vaginal bleeding, significant mood changes, or any symptoms that feel unusual or concerning. Seek immediate medical attention for signs of an allergic reaction, including difficulty breathing or facial swelling.
Who Should Not Use:
Suite Skin will not prescribe Biest to patients who are pregnant, actively trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Biest is also contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to estrogen or formulation components, active or suspected hormone-sensitive malignancy, and unexplained vaginal bleeding. You must notify our medical team if you have, develop, or suspect any of these conditions at any time during therapy.
Treatment Expectations:
Biest is not an instant treatment. Symptom improvement typically develops over 6-8 weeks with consistent use. Ongoing follow-up is required to monitor hormone levels, symptom response, and safety, and dosage adjustments may be necessary. Results vary and are not guaranteed.
Patient Responsibility:
Use Biest only as prescribed. Do not change dosing, timing, or frequency without provider approval. Attend required follow-up appointments and report side effects or concerns promptly.
Questions: Contact your provider with any questions or concerns regarding your treatment.
