What Is PT-141?
PT-141 (Bremelanotide) is a synthetic peptide designed to support sexual health by acting on the central nervous system rather than directly on blood flow or hormones. It is used to enhance sexual desire, arousal, and responsiveness in both men and women. PT-141 works independently of testosterone levels and vascular pathways.
How It Works:
PT-141 activates melanocortin receptors in the brain that influence sexual desire and arousal. By targeting the central nervous system, it helps improve libido and sexual responsiveness without relying on hormone replacement or erectile-specific mechanisms. Effects are typically noticed within hours of administration.
Expected Benefits:
Patients may experience increased sexual desire, enhanced arousal, improved sexual responsiveness, and improved satisfaction. Benefits may vary between individuals and are not guaranteed with every dose.
Male and Female Expectations:
In men, PT-141 may support increased sexual desire and improved erectile responsiveness, even in cases where erectile dysfunction is present. In women, PT-141 may support increased sexual desire, arousal, sensitivity, and overall sexual satisfaction. Individual response varies regardless of sex.
When to Use:
PT-141 is administered as a subcutaneous injection, typically used on an as-needed basis prior to sexual activity unless otherwise directed by your provider. Timing and frequency will be determined based on individual response and clinical guidance.
Possible Side Effects:
Common side effects may include nausea, flushing, headache, increased blood pressure, fatigue, dizziness, or injection site redness or irritation. These effects are usually mild to moderate and often improve with continued use or dose adjustment.
Contact Your Provider If You Experience:
Persistent or severe nausea or vomiting, significant or sustained increases in blood pressure, chest pain, shortness of breath, severe headache, vision changes, dizziness that does not resolve, or any symptoms that feel unusual or concerning.
Who Should Not Use:
Suite Skin will not prescribe PT-141 to patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have uncontrolled hypertension, cardiovascular disease, active or suspected cancer, or a known allergy to any component of the medication. You must notify our medical team if you have, develop, or suspect any of these conditions at any time during treatment.
Treatment Expectations:
PT-141 is not intended as a daily medication unless specifically prescribed. Individual response varies, and not every dose will produce the same effect. Optimal results depend on proper dosing, timing, and adherence to provider recommendations.
Patient Responsibility:
Use PT-141 only as prescribed. Do not exceed recommended dosing or frequency. Store medication properly. Attend follow-up appointments as required and report side effects or concerns promptly.
Questions: Contact your provider with any questions or concerns regarding your treatment.
