What is Tesamorelin?

Tesamorelin is a peptide medication that stimulates your body’s natural production of growth hormone by signaling the pituitary gland. It may support body composition goals, fat metabolism, energy, recovery, muscle tone, sleep quality, and overall wellness in appropriate patients. Unlike synthetic growth hormone, Tesamorelin works by encouraging your body’s own hormone release.

How It Works:

Tesamorelin is a growth hormone–releasing hormone (GHRH) analog that promotes natural, pulsatile growth hormone release rather than directly replacing hormones. It also increases insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) levels. Results develop gradually with consistent use.

Expected Benefits:

Improved body composition, support for reduction of visceral abdominal fat, increased energy and recovery, improved muscle tone, enhanced sleep quality, improved metabolism, and overall wellness support. Some patients may also notice improvements in mood and mental clarity. Benefits are cumulative and typically develop over several weeks.

When to Use:

Typically administered once daily by injection M-F each week, often in the evening or as directed by your provider. Follow all provider instructions carefully regarding timing and administration.

Possible Side Effects:

Mild redness, itching, swelling, or irritation at the injection site, headache, flushing, nausea, temporary fatigue, joint pain, muscle aches, swelling or water retention, tingling or numbness in the hands or feet, or increased hunger. These effects are typically mild and temporary.

Contact Your Provider If You Experience:

Persistent swelling, severe headaches, vision changes, chest pain, shortness of breath, severe dizziness, significant joint pain, allergic reaction, or signs of elevated blood sugar such as excessive thirst or frequent urination.

Who Should Not Use:

Suite Skin will not prescribe to patients during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active or suspected cancer, untreated pituitary disorders, uncontrolled diabetes, serious endocrine conditions, known allergy to any component of the medication, or any condition deemed unsafe by the provider. You must notify our medical team if you have, develop, or suspect any of these conditions at any time during treatment.

Treatment Expectations:

Tesamorelin is not an instant treatment. Consistent use is essential. Results develop gradually over time and are best supported by healthy nutrition, regular exercise, quality sleep, and stress management.

Patient Responsibility:

Use only as prescribed. Do not change dosing or schedule without provider approval. Store medication properly. Attend recommended follow-ups and lab monitoring appointments. Report side effects or health changes promptly.
